Category: Let's talk
Hello. Was wondering what your take is on the elections, in Michigan our Governor won another four year term. She's democratic, and our senator won another six year term. The people of Michigan have voted for change.
Excellent! but the result is wasted on the imbecile in washington, he's too busy calming down from an almighty tanturm.
Yeah, he's giving a press conference today at 1 Eastern. That should be interesting, especially if the two Senate seats that are still undecided fall to the Dems before that time. I'm guessing though that Virginia won't be decided for a while as it sounds like they are going to have to do a recount.
Love the results, finally, maybe some sanity will return to Washington.
Bob
Sanity? In Washington? I doubt it. Not that I'm not happy to see Democrats win, but I think sanity is too much to hope for.
I'm disappointed. Demacrat Sharod Brown beat Mike Du wine. I don't like Sharod Brown. He sounds like a fat man who smokes a pack a day. I hear he's also a big lier. I'm glad smoke free Ohio passed. My friend and I had an argument about that today but oh well we all have our own oppinions. The gambling machine issue failed here in ohio. I voted against it myself as I don't gamble. Our public transpirtation tax issue passed which I'm glad for. Ted Strickland is our governor now beat Blackwell. Last I heard at 5:30 congress was still counting because Mary Jo Killroy was getting beat and was arguing that there needs to be more balotts counted. In my oppinion she just doesn't want to lose but it looks like she is going to. Some guy named Tim Horton won something can't remember but I joked about that one do to the Tim Hortons coffee and doughnuts lol. I think that's all I have to report. It didn't go the way me and my friends wanted to but we did our duty and honestly I wonder what were some of those people thinking?

I'm very happy with the results. I really like Eliot Spitzer (our new Governor) and his Lieutenant Governor Dave Paterson, who's legally blind. I'm also happy (though not surprised) that Hillary Clinton won her Senate seat again. I think the Dems will do a lot of good things for our country now that they have control of the house, and hopefully, the Senate. It's great that there are more women and minorities represented in our government now as well. The only major disappointment of the day for me was that our local Congressional district is still Republican. I was really pulling for Dave Mejias, the Democrat who was running this year. I don't really like Peter King's views on personal privacy.
Unfortunately, I think we got Rick Perry as governor again here. I was actually hoping for Carol Keaton Strayhorn, as I liked what she had to say and she seemed to speak sincerely about being for the people, and was one of the ones that didn't have to talk about her opponents to get people to like her. Unfortunately, though, she only got 19 percent of votes. I'm glad Kinky Freedman didn't win, although it is kind of sad that he got the fewest votes out of the 4 or 5 people running, but when one of the stations here interviewed him (as they were each having something going on as they were waiting for the results), he was at an outdoor bar or something, drinking. All I could think was, "That does not make him look good." Plus during his campaign ads, he really didn't seem to have much to say about what he was about, just that politics should be about the people and not politicians. I don't know. But anyway, yeah, so we have Rick Perry again as far as I know (although I only heard the results up to 9:something two nights ago; there was I believe the Democratic candidate--don't remember his name at the moment--pretty close behind him.)
Oh Chris Bell, that's the Democratic candidate's name. *smile*
I think Clinton will run for president.
Troy
..And I think I perhaps will VOTE for Her...
Mr. Clinton would make a GR'gr'gr'gr eh ate First Gentleman
*Hmmm ..so many the thots to think, ponder, give consideration/meditation to..
I voted straight democratic, always have, always will as long as the republican party continue to break their own contract with America.
TinkerBell, the democratic party guy was Chris Bell. I actually liked Kinky Friedman because he was so different, but voted for Bell because I wanted my vote to count for something.
There's talk around here that Rick Perry will run for Vice President on the Republican Party ticket. I hope he does just to get him out of Texas so he won't do any more harm down here. Sorry America, we had to foist George Bush on you guys, but we just couldn't stand any more of his lies down here in Texas.
Okay, that's my rave about the elections. First election I've been able to rave about in a very very long time.
Bob
How could you not vote for someone named Kinky? LOL
Okay Beck, didn't know anything about him but his name. Wise ass!
Bob
That would sound kind of funny though, "and coming up next, Governor Kinky Freedman stopped by ... to give a speech." *laugh* That name and the word "Governor" would just sound funny to me. *smile* Not sure how our state would be though. *smile* And I'm not saying that because I think he's a bad person, just that I really didn't hear him say much specifically as to how he would improve things here, and what I did hear about him from others made me even more unsure about it.
